Made For More

I came to love these children from the very first Sunday. The energy these preschoolers bring with them is amazing. As they listen to the Bible stories, sing, and interact with us, I love witnessing their innocence, wonder, and trust.

Serving in UpStreet brings me so much joy every Sunday. Not only am I able to help teach children about the incredible love Jesus has for us, but I also get to experience the joy of seeing their smiles and their excitement to be there.

Back in May 2022, my son Christian started in Transit, and on the very first day the parents watched a video from volunteers that showed me how much we can do in Transit to guide our middle schoolers toward having a faith of their own. That day I decided to join as a Transit leader. 

Since I started volunteering at InsideOut, I’ve learned that high school students are so FUN. My coleader and I say all the time that the most we laugh all week is on Sundays with our small group. Spending time with them is an absolute joy. 

We were motivated to put our faith into practice and be intentional about developing community with parents in our same stage of life. We felt that leading a group would be a small thing we could do to help others like us connect.

The joy of helping someone through their struggles and witnessing God's transformative work is the greatest feeling. This is why I decided to step into the trenches and get involved in God’s work where he has called me.

My hour on UpStreet every Sunday is the best hour of my week. I get to interact and share God’s love with students, small group leaders, other volunteers, and staff members.

Every Sunday at 10:30 a.m., we bring comfort and joy to toddlers in room 115. We are often overstimulated and exhausted by the end of it, but seeing the kids’ smiles makes it all worth it.

Leading a group was something I have wanted to grow into for some time and I'm beyond grateful to have had that first experience through the North Point's Groups team.
