Do For One

Spread some love to those around you.

do for one

Do for one what you wish you could do for everyone.

There’s never been a better time to brighten someone’s day with a little unexpected generosity.

This month, we’re inviting you to do for one what you wish you could do for everyone. We’ve provided a list of ways you can spread some love to those around you.

If we all do something for someone, think of how many people we could impact!

  1. Write a note of appreciation to a healthcare worker you know.

  2. Send flowers or a special gift to someone who lost their spouse or a significant other on or around Valentine’s Day.

  3. Put a surprise treat on a co-worker’s desk.

  4. Offer to babysit for a single mom (free of charge) so they can go to dinner or run errands.

  5. Have pizza delivered to a friend’s house or send them a gift card for dinner.

  6. Send an email to your child’s principal, bragging on their teacher. Be sure to copy the teacher on it!

  7. Reach out to someone who's new to your neighborhood with a welcome note and a gift card.

  8. Check in with an older friend or neighbor to ask if there’s anything they need help with.

  9. Write a thank-you note to someone who has been a positive influence in your life.

  10. Invite someone who lives alone to dinner at your home.
  1. Pay for the coffee/meal for the car behind you in a drive-thru line.

  2. Deliver a meal or dessert to your local fire or police station.

  3. Provide Valentine’s Day cards for residents at a nursing home.

  4. Provide a meal for hospital staff on a specific floor of the hospital.

  5. Pay for someone's groceries or gas.

  6. If you see a first responder at a restaurant, tell their server you want to pay for their meal.

  7. Leave a note or small gift on the porch of a neighbor you haven’t met yet or don’t know well.

  8. Leave a thank-you note and a gift card in your mailbox for the mail carrier.

  9. Write a note of appreciation to someone who is serving or has served in the military.

  10. Grab a gift card from a local coffee shop and give it to a retail worker at a local grocery or favorite store.

If you serve someone in your community, here’s a printable card you can include along with your gift or note.
