Session Six
Intimacy
As we explore God’s design for intimacy in marriage, it’s important to expand our understanding of intimacy beyond the physical act of sex. Intimacy is about forming an exclusive and increasingly intimate bond with your spouse on an intellectual, emotional, relational, spiritual, and physical level.
Intellectual—a mind connection that results from discovering and participating in each other’s interests, passions, and dreams
Emotional—a heart connection that is the natural by-product of sharing life’s ups and downs
Relational—a close friendship that deepens over time
Spiritual—a connection in which you put God at the center of your relationship
Physical—a body connection in which you offer the most personal parts of yourselves exclusively to each other
